FRIENDS FOR WATER Onlus is a non-profit organisation founded in 2004 to develop water projects in Sahel. The organisation was created during a trip to Mali, a unique experience that immediately triggered a thought of solidarity; to ensure that the local communities have access to the most important of primary rights - water.

 For this reason, FFW constructs deep wells for drinkable water, dams and irrigation systems used in agriculture.

The projects are entirely undertaken by African companies and are realized with the active participation of the beneficiaries’ villages. The latter is crucial in order to create a sense of responsibility towards the project.

Each village finally appoints a “Local Committee” which is responsible for protecting the completed projects from pollution and guaranteeing their correct function.

 ALL funds collected by FFW are going towards the realization of the water plans on the land situated "by the desert".
